The flagship Le Printemps on Boulevard Haussmann, opened 150 years ago initiating a revolution in shopkeeping. Designed by Jules and Paul Sédille, noted architects of the day, it had set prices - not market haggling - but introduced discount sales. Other Le Printemps have opened around Paris, France and the world, but this is the one to visit - not only for its fashionable merchandise but the art nouveau cupola above Brasserie Printemps. The cupola and store's facade are registered historical monuments. Closed Sundays. Metro and RER access.
