Hotel de Windetel offers one of the most unique overnights in the city. The freestanding octagonal brick building dates from 1897 and once housed a giant copper kettle for the waterworks department. Today, it has been retrofitted to include a kitchen, dining area and bathroom on the bottom floor, a lounge on the second, and a bedroom with en-suite bath on the top floor - all outfitted Dutch design. Set on a tranquil residential square, it is around the corner from the Western Gas Works culture park and only 10 minutes walk from Jordaan district.
