The super modernistic Room Mate Emma, close to the Diagonal Metro hub, has 56 minimalistic rooms done in white with a splash of purple. That it has a nightclub vibe comes as no surprise as the interiors were done by Tomás Alía, a Madrid designer known for flashy discos and eateries. Emma was the first of the Spanish chain - known as "fun, friendly affordable and sexy" - to open in Barcelona. Penthouse accommodations have private sunbathing space.
