The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art was designed by the American Richard Meier before the museum had a collection. The $35-million construction was completed in 1995. The museum today has around 5,000 works, mostly post-1945 Catalan and Spanish Art. An aside: it has come a skateboarding mecca. Open Mon., Wed.-Fri, 11 a.m. -8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m., Sundays and public holidays 10 a.m. -3 p.m.

The museum itself is worth to visit. Great Architecture from Richard Meier. A must for fans of modern architecture.
