Hornos, near a stretch of high-rise hotels, is the main tourist beach, offering all kinds of water-fun rentals, including Banana Boat rides. It has fine sand and gentle-to-moderate waves. You can rent chairs and umbrellas and have the choice of a number of good seafood restaurants. It's also sometimes called Playa Papagayo, because it is across from the park of the same name. It has a yearly sand sculpture contest.
