Plaza del Sol, four miles (7 km) southwest of the city center, holds the honor of being the first shopping mall in Latin America and remains the largest outdoor mall in the city. Built in the late 1960s, it has major international brands like Zara, Levi's and Starbucks, a food court, multiplex cinema and a casino with electronic bingo and video slots. A few blocks away are the Guadalajara World Trade Center and Expo Guadalajara.
