Since 1956, the family-run La Fonda del Recuerdo has grown to be more than a simple fonda (working man's bistro). It's now the unofficial representative of all things Veracruz in Mexico City - food, music, folkloric dancing. It serves breakfast, brunch, sandwiches, seafood and vegetarian. The house speciality is a "fuente" of shellfish, ceviche and avocado bites, a Mexican version of a French "plateau."
