On the southern end of Riviera Nayarit, Playa Destiladeras has three miles of fine white sand good for walking and just enough surf for boogie boarding and body surfing. It is crowded with families on weekends and holidays but manages to maintain an undeveloped air with some nude sunbathing on the far side of the rocks. Access sometimes hard to spot, it is three miles (5 km) northwest of Bucerias and a short mini-bus ride from La Cruz Huanacaxtle. The bus stop is near the Nahui real estate development and a public parking lot. Some food, drink and equipment are available. Luxury condos and resorts have begun to change the neighborhood.
