Atlanta has only really one proper art museum, but she is a doozy whose stature has been rising in stature since a recent addition onto the original building by Renzo Piano and a partnership with the Louvre. The collection of American art is carefully, exactingly curated, its exhibits often groundbreaking and the prominence of outsider folk-art unparalleled. Tickets are half-price after 4 pm on Thursdays.
