If you've heard of Key West, you've heard of Sloppy Joe's, which opened in 1933 when Prohibition was repealed and Hemingway was living in town. Hemingway, a loyal patron, supposedly suggested the name. There's eating, drinking, dancing, live music, a papa-hemingway-lookalike contest each July - and T-shirts, hats, glassware, you-name-it souvenirs emblazoned with the Sloppy Joe logo. Institution or brand, it's still packing 'em in.
