One of the better mid-range hotels on the Strip, the Luxor is known for its 30-story black-glass pyramid and replicas of the Sphinx and Cleopatra's Needle; but the Egyptian theme stops there, and the rest of the hotel is decorated in simple but luxurious tones. The pyramid shape lends some unusual elements like high-speed "inclinators" that take you to your room instead of elevators, and the open-air hallways of the upper floors look out over the world's largest atrium. The atmosphere is very gay-friendly, and the pool - the largest on The Strip - hosts a gay party called Temptation every Sunday from May through September. On-site clubs LAX, Noir Bar, and Flight are also highly-rated.
