Chef Sang Yoon put the "gastro" in gastropub when he took over Father's Office, a pioneering craft-beer bar in 2000. Yoon's famous Office Burger may have been the first chef-driven gourmet burger in the US. The dry-aged beef patty on French bread comes with bacon marmalade, Gruyère and blue cheese, but the chef bans condiments like ketchup and mustard. Bar food is paired with 36 rotating craft beers on draft. Wine is small production and esoteric. In both the original Santa Monica location and a second in Culver City, you must be 21.
