If you're in Provincetown for a romantic getaway, book into Snug Cottage. Perched on a charming hilltop on Bradford Street, it is close enough to the action of downtown to join in if you want and far enough if you just want to relax quietly in the shaded English-style garden with a cup of tea.

For a decadent sweetheart's brunch, stroll down the hill to Purple Feather Cafe and Treatery for luxe comfort food fare like lobster mac and cheese or handmade pastries, served in a cheeky little dining room with plenty of purple details and the obligatory rainbow flag. Indulge in a mimosa or two and watch the town parading by outisde.

And now it's time for a midday jaunt on the Schooner Bay Lady II. Captain Bob leads a two-hour tour along the coast on this majestic sailboat, and a bring-your-own-drinks-and-snacks policy makes it easy to keep the champagne flowing.

Stretch those sea legs a bit with a gentle hike on the west end of town. The Long Point Lighthouse Trail offers a number of good vantage points along the route. Cap off the walk with $1.25 Wellfleet oysters on the comfortable outdoor deck at the Red Inn, possibly the best place to indulge in this local delicacy.

As the day wanes, grab a cab out to Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod for guided tour through the maritime vineyards of this family-owned estate, and stop in the 1830s farmhouse for a tasting of the local vintages. This is a popular wedding venue, so you may wander into a wedding party, or just enjoy sunset under an arbor.

Dinner is at Joon Bar + Kitchen, one of the chicest spots on Commercial Street, with a fun and sexy vibe enhanced by mood lighting and lots of playful touches. Make sure to sample a selection of the small plate dishes on the menu.

With the moon out, take a romantic walk along West End Lot Beach, a small stretch of beach easily accessible from downtown and with lovely views of the harbor and lighthouses. For the perfect end to a romantic day, snuggle up in a two-seater pedicab back up the hill to the hotel, and enjoy the last of the day's magic.
