Fantasia Fair is billed as the longest-running annual event in the transgender world, and prides itself on being  a "full immersion experience," meaning participants can spend the whole week presenting whatever gender they wish. Events include a formal banquet, fashion show, cabaret performance, and talent show. There are workshops to promote self-confidence and discuss gender theory, and an overall atmosphere of support and approval that is invaluable. A portion of the ticket sales go to the Provincetown AIDS Memorial Fund.
