Part of a weeklong celebration, the St. Petersburg Pride Parade - the largest in the state of Florida - has outgrown its original route along Central Avenue in the gayborhood and moved downtown with a pre-parade party beginning in the early afternoon. Nearly 5,000 costumed revelers march in the evening parade along a 12-block route lined with several hundred thousand spectators, some in bleacher and "glamstand" seating.
