The National Arboretum, which can be toured either by car or on foot, has plenty of things to keep kids busy. Among the sights to see on its 446 acre property are Dawn Redwoods, koi ponds, herb gardens, and even a bonsai museum, where kids can learn about and see hundreds of examples of these carefully pruned miniature trees. Closed for holidays.
