The Bo-Kamp Museum, managed by Iziko Museums, is on the slopes of Signal Hill in the center of Cap Malay culture. Established in 1978, it has permanent exhibits on the people who built Cape Town, the New Year Carnival and the colorful neighborhood, which itself is worth a visit. Its cobblestoned streets echo the muezzin's calls to prayer and reflect local Islamic culture and heritage. The museum itself began as a home depicting the lifetstyle of a 19th century Muslim family.
