The Po Lin Monastery, found in 1906 in a remote part of Lantau Island, is no longer so remote since the construction of the nearby Ngong Ping 360 gondola lift and theme village, It has a vegetarian restaurant and several noteworthy structures including the monumental Tian Tan Buddha statue. Monks at themonastery makes wooden bracelets, which are sold only by the statue.
