Shalvata - which means "serene" in Hebrew - is a breezy little hole-in-the-wall perched right on the edge of the Tayelet. The sea views are spectacular, as are the plates of fried octopus and hummus drizzled with olive oil. Prices are reasonable, and the cocktails are strong. After 9 pm, the restaurant turns into a dance club popular with a young local crowd.
