Opened as an Italian café in 1917, The Ivy rose to fame in theatrical circles with a celebrity guest list that has included Laurence Olivier, Lilian Braithwaite, Binkie Beaumont, Marlene Dietrich, to name a few. Its main dining room - recently remodeled and serving modern British cuisine - has retained its original art deco charms and signature features like the harlequin stained-glass windows, while adding a large central bar. Three floors up, a private members' club is accessed via a hidden entrance through an adjacent flower shop.
