Between the old town and new, the Promenade du Paillon is a new 12-hectare (30 acre) urban park created over an old riverbed. Stretching 1.2 kilometer (almost a mile), it is a tranquil oasis with water mirrors and trees in blossom in every season. Locals like to stroll here. For kids, there are soaking fountains for warm days and a playground with wooden animals.
