Built at the turn of the 20th century and named after princess Luise Marie Elizabeth of Prussia, Lusienpark is a municipal park set on 100 acres (41 ha). Its many attractions include a Chinese garden with tea house, a rose garden, gondolettas on Kutzerweiher Lake, a 670-foot (205 m) telecommunications tower with a rotating restaurant, and a greenhouse with a butterfly house, bird exhibits and aquariums. The Spielwiese, a large playground and meadow, has taken over the former racecourse grounds. Open year round, the best time to visit is in the Spring when the flowers are in full bloom. Entrance fees apply.
