The most contemporary member of Munich's art district, the Moderne's art collection consists mainly or works from the 20th century and beyond, and is neatly divided into Art, Architecture, Design, and Works on Paper. The building itself is a fine specimen of museum architecture, despite its drab white-and-grey concrete aesthetic, whose four sections meet at a glorious rotunda.
