Housed in a former newspaper office, the Volkshotel is now a trendy creative hub that includes studios for designers and music producers, work spaces and funky meeting rooms. On the rooftop: a restaurant-bar that turns nightclub with beautiful views of the Amsterdam skyline, a sauna and hot tubs. In the basement: a dark cocktail bar with often risqué performances until the morning hours. The East Amsterdam location is not particularly attractive, but with a metro stop outside the front door, the rest of the city is quickly accessible.
