Tibidabo is a fun amusement park, built more than a century ago high above the city. You might have seen it in Woody Allen's 2008 "Vicky Christian Barcelona." The park has festivals, concerts, street theater, holiday celebrations as well as 25 rides including ferris wheel, roller coaster and merry-go-round. Lots of food possibilities from carts to ice cream shops to cafés. While you're in the neighborhood, visit the free Tibidabo Skywalk, offering spectacular views from 500 meters (1,600 feet) up. The amusement park is open only in warmer months starting in March, but the Skywalk closes only in January and on February weekdays. Also on the hill is the Sagrat Cor Church, designed by Enric Sagnier by not completed for 60 years. Check the church's concert schedule before you go up the hill.
Take Tourist Bus #T2A from Plaça de Catalunya in front of the Caja Madrid Bank, which leaves about every 20 minutes, from 10:15 am, during the park season. The fare is reimbursed at the park. Or try the "Tramvia Blau" (blue tram, bus #196) and the Tibiadabo Funicular, which runs weekend in February and daily March - December.
