Nothing represents Rio's celebratory vibe better than Carnival, the biggest party on the planet and much more than traditional spectacle as seen on TV. The famous parade closes out five days of reveling in spectacular sequined fashion at the Sambódromo - built exclusively to host the event, but if you are not attending the main event, over 500 blocos de rua (block parties) take place in every neighborhood across town including the popular Monobloco, Cordao do Bola Preta and Suvaco de Cristo.
