Cafe La Habana is a longtime hangout for journalists and writers, but it supposedly is also where Fidel Castro and Che Guevara met over coffee to plot the Cuban revolution. It opened in 1954, the year before Raul Castro is said to have introduced Fidel and Che in Mexico. In addition to history and atmosphere, it features a weekday breakfast "paquetes" that include freshly squeeze orange juice.

Dance 'til you drop at Patrick Miller's , but get there early because lines are long and the place packed. It's hot in more ways than one, so dress down. Good for 80s and 90s music and high-energy dancing....
