Montreal's historic port extends over a mile (2 km) along the St. Lawrence River, and was redeveloped as a recreational space when the shipping facilities were moved to the new port. In addition to cycling, walking, rollerblading, zip lining and fishing along the waterfront, the area offers attractions like the Montréal Science Center, the Montreal Clock Tower, the Plage de l'Horloge (Clock Tower Beach) and a mini electric train ride for the kids. Speedboats, bateau-mouches, pedalos, the amphibian bus, jet-skis and river cruises also launch from here.
