The oldest African-American-owned business in Kirkwood, Morris has been offering its dive-y but somewhat refined interior to the over-25 set for the last forty years. Threatened on all sides by the rapidly gentrifying neighborhood, it somehow continues to open its doors every night at 8 pm for its mostly black, working-class clientele - with Al Green on the speakers, pickled eggs at the bar, and a healthy attendance at karaoke.
