This 135-acres is the largest extant old forest inside the city limits. Once used as a resort by early 20th-century entrepreneur John Zaring, only the springs, ruined pump house and ghostly springhouse remain, reclaimed by forest moss. Waterfalls and hillside trails abound, and there is a Civil War battle site to visit.
