Built in the 1920s, the terracotta Hollywood Beach Broadwalk - called that because it is broad - stretches 2.5 miles (4 k) along the Atlantic. It offers beach fun, dozens of restaurants and shops, a Sunday farmers' market and free live music weekly at a seaside bandshell. Popular with rollerbladers, cyclists and joggers, it wins national awards for being clean, safe and user-friendly. An old-fashioned trolley runs everyday between the beach and downtown.
