Bar 1200 in the Sunset Marquis Hotel still attracts some of the old rock stars from when it was the rocking Whiskey Bar, but it has calmed down and gone upscale since its 2008 renovation and name change. Hotel guests are guaranteed entry, but the red rope goes up on the weekends or when the bar is packed with film and music industry glitterati. The bar has a strict no-photos policy.
