Founded by UCLA students in 1982, Outfest promotes equity by showcasing films that tell stories of LGBTQ lives. The 11-day festival, sponsored by HBO, includes screenings of films from around the world, panels and parties. Outfest also sponsors a film series the first Wednesday of each month at the West Hollywood City Council Chambers and Outfest Fusion, a LGBT People of Color Film Festival.
