Hip and happening Koreatown - the most densely populated neighborhood in LA - never sleeps. Packed into the three square miles just west of downtown, it has a slew of karaoke bars and Asian dance clubs, a four-story driving range, great toy and kitchen supply shops and of course restaurants, their cuisines reflecting one of the most diverse populations in LA and in the United States. Nicknamed for the Koreans who began moving into the Art Deco houses in the 1960s, it is actually over 50 percent Latino and one-third Asian and the rest a little bit of everything else. About half the population can claim Korean and Mexican heritage. The Korean-Mexican tacos sold out of the most popular food trucks began here.
