The Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) or California State Route 1 runs along most of the Californian coast and is one of the US's best road trips. The section in Los Angeles County under various local street names stretches from Long Beach in the south, passes under two runways of the Los Angeles International Airport and goes by the beach towns of Venice and Santa Monica before continuing along the coast through Pacific Palisades and Malibu, where it is the city's the main thoroughfare for 21 miles.
