An old-time Florida attraction, the family-owned Gatorland opened in 1949. Calling itself "The Alligator Capital of the World," it has alligators and crocodiles on view from a boardwalk, observation tower and zip line. The 110-acre (45 ha) theme park and wildlife preserve also has alligator wrestling and reptile shows and a breeding marsh area that was used in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom."
