The Japanese Tea Garden began as an exhibit at the 1894 World's Fair, and proved so popular that it evolved into a permanent addition to Golden Gate Park. Inside the grounds is a painstakingly landscaped wonderland of miniature trees, koi ponds, bridges, pools of carp, and a giant bronze Buddha. If you can, try to make it here in the Spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
