Jungfernstieg is a broad promenade along the Alster lakes and includes over a mile of upscale shopping in malls large and small. The site of Sillem's Bazar, a glass-covered arcade built in 1845 and supposedly the world's first enclosed shopping mall, is now a shopping arcade inside the Hamburger Hof building.
