A smattering of 60s and 70s apartment buildings erected to harbor the city's masses of poor students, it is by far the most diverse part of town. Take the U6 to the stop with the same name, and wander around a bit, checking out the flyers for info about upcoming events. It may be unknown to tourists and nothing fancy, but this student ghetto in Munich is worth a visit, if only to partake in some of the activities or parties planned on the campus. And if you make a student friend, you might get access to the incredibly cheap sauna in the basement of the Rotes Haus.
