The Royal Palace is the official residence of the King of Spain, but is only used for state ceremonies. It is the largest and finest palace in Western Europe with 1,450,000 square-feet of floor space and 3,418 rooms including the Royal Armoury and Pharmacy. It is open to the public Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sundays to 3 pm with guided tours available.
