Head to Che Lagarto Hostel in Ipanema and grab some breakfast at the hostel before heading out to the gayest beach in town - Ipanema - just a couple of blocks away.

After a morning stroll by the sea, Delírio Tropical restaurant on Garcia D'Ávila street is an ideal place to sit back and enjoy a refreshing drink and a meal. Ecologically and politically correct, lunch for two here including drinks will set you back around U$20.

Time to find that rainbow flag on the sand and sunbathe a little. Posto 9 in front of Farme de Amoedo street is where the LGBTQ crowd gathers, and it is less than 10 minutes walk from Delírio Tropical. Grab yourself a caipirinha or a fresh coconut water from a beach seller and stretch out on these famous sands.

After soaking up sun and if you still have energy left to burn, head to Galeria Café on Teixeira de Melo street after a pit stop back at the hotel. Note that it normally gets busy after 1 am on weekends, so there is plenty of time to nap and freshen up.
