The José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden - the largest in Colombia - abounds with orchids, the country's national flower. Covering about 50 acres (20 ha), it has themed gardens, an artificial waterfall, a café and research facilities. It is named after an 18th century botanist and astronomer and has nominal admission fees. The hop on-hop off tourist bus stops at the entrance.
