Open since 1921, La Fuente is one of the oldest cantinas in town and looks it. It serves cheap beer chilled on ice, tequila and snacks. Patrons sing along with the piano player pounding out classic Mexican love songs. The bar's symbol is a bicycle, mounted high on the wall under a colonial arch. It was either forgotten by a fellow on his way to the toilet or left as security for an unpaid bar tab more than a half century ago. Either way, clients have to pay cash for each round as it is served.
