Founded in 2003 by Danilo Pérez, Panamanian Grammy winner and jazz pianist, the Panama Jazz Festival soon outgrew its original location in Casco Viejo and today takes place in various venues around the city. Some of the artists that have been featured: Herbie Hancock, Joe Lovano, Rubén Blades and Ellis Marsalis Jr. Up to 100,000 attend the various the five-day festival.
