LA-born Chef Ray Garcia, who was Esquire's 2016 chef of the year, serves inventive tacos and bolsas (snacks) at the counter lunchtime and family-style nightly specials. Check out the weekday happy hour 5:30 to 7 pm. Garcia tacks 3 percent on the bill to help cover employe health insurance, but you can ask to have it removed. You can also find B.S. Taqueria at the Staples Center. Garcia's flagship restaurant, also downtown, is Broken Spanish.
