"As bare as you dare", that's the official motto of the world's largest naked bicycle event, held every June in Portland. It's not an ancient tradition but it is a beloved show of resistance to oil dependency that began in 2005 and has been gaining momentum ever since. The route is only released at the start of the ride and alcohol is forbidden in the marshaling area so plan ahead and don't show up in a car with your bike on a rack. This is a night ride, usually people start accumulating at 8p.m. and the ride begins close to 9 p.m. Prepare yourself for some chill wind in places that don't usually get windy!
