One of the major shopping areas in San Francisco, and home to most of its department stores, Union Square is a prime destination for flexing your credit card. Neiman Marcus, Barney's, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue all have outposts on the square, and side streets contain a number of luxury boutiques including Hermes, Gucci, and Cartier.
