Ben's Chili Bowl on U Street has been a DC institution since 1958, and is a must for any tourist. They serve their famous chili on everything from hot dogs to Polish sausages, and their cheese fries are amazing. Obama is a fan, and you'll see pictures of many other famous clients lining the walls.
