Though DC is not known for its deli food the pastrami sandwich at DGS Delicatessen in Dupont Circle-made from grass-fed beef and served on twice-baked rye-is good enough to compete with the best in the country. Chicken schnitzel and matzo soup are also worth ordering. Unlike most delis, this one has a bar, and a snug brick-walled dining room in which to enjoy your food.
