Spanning 624 acres and containing the remains of over 400,000 people, Arlington Cemetery is the most-visited cemetery in America.  Accessible via public transportation from downtown DC, the cemetery is located on the banks of the Potomac River and contains the Kennedy graves, Iwo Jima Memorial, Tomb of the Unknowns as well as the graves of servicemen and women from every war in America's history. There are approximately 5,000 funerals here each year, every Monday through Saturday.
